The “Great Inrees Evening” in Paris

Beginning last November 22nd, The Great Inrees Evening will become the French extraordinary’ science monthly “rendez-vous” in 2008, hold in the prestigious French Geographical Society’ auditorium. Every month, Inrees will present film, documentary and conference with major film directors or researchers in the field of extraordinary experiences.

This film brings us within the Shipibos, an Amazonian tribe in Peru, and purpose us to discover shamanism that is central in their culture. Jan Kounen, film director of “Renegade” or “Dashing: The Embrace” fall in love with this universe and shamanism during the shooting preparation of “Renegade”. He decided to highlight in this documentary the mystical link that exist between shaman and nature. He also went al over the world to interview key specialist of shamanistic culture. The projection of the film will be followed by a discussion with the director. « This movie is born after my meeting with Shipibo healer from Peruvian Amazon, and their sacred plant: ayahusaca, the liana of the soul. Lock in our sense, we can only perceive on aspect of the reality. With our eyes, we perceive only a small section in the light spectrum of its reflection the matter. It’s the same with all our sense. I always had the feeling that other dimension do exist, and that our brain and nervous system are filter for our consciousness. A necessary filter for us to apprehend the material world. But to often, this filter become the source of cultural, moral and scientific doctrines that give us a shooter image of the universe. The question was always open for me: it is possible, sometimes, to tear the veil?
